Do I remove the carbon filter when my fish have ich?

and leave the filter running without it or do I turn the whole thing off? It's a TETRA WHISPER EX20 filter. I'm going to give the fish a 3 day treatment. I took out all the plants and put them in a bucket. The tank only has rocks in it right now.
