I'm attempting to write something.?

I think that you have a really good and fresh beginning to a story, a different approach. Don't abandon it; try imagining some possible plots. You must have had some sort of concept in mind when you started writing. There might a competitiveness between the protagonist and her mother, or the protagonist might decide grudgingly to attend her mother's wedding, then meet someone there -- not the child of the groom, predictably, but maybe some contemporary of the groom, a man with whom her establishing a relationship will upset her mother, which could be the initial reason for her becoming involved with the man to whom she is not particularly attracted. She would be reluctant, anyway, to become emotionally involved with another man due to her poor "track record" with men. So, she just decides to have a fling with the older man to annoy her mother, and then she discovers that he is completely different from the young guys she's been dating and who have been jilting her. You can develop it from there... Good luck!
